painting valve cover

after cleaning the valve cover are most of u guys using a coat of primer before the hi heat paint? also can u put the valve cover back on by hand or do you need a torque wrench?

i used etching primer and u should use a torque wrench.

i didnt use any primer, just 500 degree paint directly onto the metal.
