IMO: Stock rims or rims from other cars turn out looking better then most rims. My friend put a pair of 2g rims on his 1g dsm and it looks great.

Excellent job with the wheels, it shows how much you can do when on a budget an a little ingenuity....the color pattern on the camaro wheels look great, love to do some Advan in the same colors....

Glitched thanks a ton for the write-up, I'll definitely be following your advice

and JSvert240sx you might want to consider a wire brush mounted on a drill... thats what I had to use for the inside of the rims the brake dust was reallyyy bad hah

thanks for all the help! I'll be posting up some pics when I done with them

The finish seems to be coming off or almost corroded in a few spots.... any tips as to what to take that crap off with before attempting the repaint?

stock silver. don't do it. it just looks ghetto. painting calipers is okay just not red lol. silver or gold is fine. it only works decent red when its z calipers.

Sandpaper works wonders... take those parts down to the bare aluminum and fine sand it, then when you prime use a self-etching primer to cover over any discrepancies

My rims look like this now. I bought Aircraft Stripper yesterday, and hope to get that **** off my factory rims. Factory is 100 times better than any paintjob you can do.

Painted rims are the suck.

I'll get before/after tomorrow night.

Aircraft stripper will probably take off the factory finish as well. I used it on my skyline rims and it took them down to bare aluminum in about 2 minutes. The stuff is crazy, just spray it on and your paint will start bubbling and you can just wipe off the paint with paper towels. If you do use it, wear latex gloves. But still be careful because that stuff ate through 5 pairs of latex, it's that acidic. It burns pretty bad if you get it directly on your skin.

This is after using the aircraft stripper, bare aluminum!!!

Well done!

Looks your wheels are in better shape than mine. Mine are all pitted/scratched.

YOOOOOOO that's my car, well was before a friend of mine totaled it. Spray painted SE wheels are great, especially for drift wheels. Just make sure you use a lot of clear.

Yeah I remember that zenki. I think that car is what made me want to buy a zenki in the first place. Your car was really well put together sir.
