hello peoples

so i'm in the middle of stripping down the interior of the car. i'm nearing towards the end and will probably be able to strip off all the sound deadening by the end of this weekend. i was just wondering how exactly would i go about painting the interior... the the metal i mean. i plan on keeping it stripped. its gonna be mostly a track car. would i just go ahead and spray it? should i sand it like i would as if i were painting the exterior first? do i need to get a few layers of primer? its gonna be white if that makes any difference...

thanks for the help in advance.

S13Teddy did this to his interior. If you want first hand experience, ask him.

But really, it's pretty simple. Just treat it how you would any other paint job. Do a really good job on the prep work and be sure to use some tough paint.

I have heard good things about people using Rustoleum, its pretty durable...

as far as prep, the paint might come out better if you do some sanding first

but ive also heard good things about people using rhino liner in thier gutted interior. its not heavy and is very durable

Fixed. :chuckle:

If you want the paint to stick then yes, sand and/or scuff it. Spraying some primer won't hurt I would imagine, but that's up to you if you wanna do that or not. Well, on the other hand, if you do sand the paint thats already there down to the metal, then yeah, you probably should spray some primer.

Are you really THAT lazy? There's a crap load of threads out there of people showing EXACTLY how they prep their cars before paint, and the materials they used. You just don't like it because it doesn't spoon feed you the answer.
