Hey, im new to NICO. im thinking about getting my stock 2.5 rims (2010+ style) painted black with a possibility of having NISMO painted in white on one of the spokes on each wheel. Image
if anyone has any thoughts or can photoshop what it would look like on a white coupe......do share.

Thanks! I live in Scranton, PA. was it hard to get good results by yourself and how much did you pay to get the tires taken off the rim if you did? (or did you leave them on?)

Your best bet if you're an amateur is plastidip. looks exactly like paint and u can always take it off if you don't like the outcome. did mine myself and I love it.

Is plastidip durable? Or will i find myself tearing it off and redoing it alot? And how is it applicated? Spray can? Or no?

It's pretty durable so far for me. You can find tons of youtube vids ppl reviewing it. I've done my research before I used them. nd yeah it's a spray can u can buy from home depot or w/e.

If I can fit it in-between a wrestling tournament and installing my headers that come in "Friday" it'll be done by this weekend. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Painting them would require taking the tires off. Doing it with them on isn't such a great idea.

and what kind of wrasslin? Has one ever attempted to plasti-dip themselves? That might be a cool wrasslin suit. :)

plastidip is most definitely the way to go.
also, i think painting them black with nismo on them is tacky as hell. they're not nismo wheels, they're stockers. but to each their own i suppose.

I just got my powder coated black. It looks nice.. but ORIGINALLY it was suppose to have a white lip. I'm kinda pissed that my powder coat guy promised me a white lip and ended up telling me he couldn't do it. But the black is nice.. and he did it for cheap.. so can't complain.

I'm still looking to get a white lip on tho.. but liquid painted.

i agree. if it's not legit nismo, you shouldn't be rocking the nismo sticker.

My bad.. I've been busy all week. Didn't have time to reply. Here's the pick. Powder coated all black stock rims... still thinking about getting a white lip.

I never posted pictures on here yet.. hope these links work. I signed up for Flicker just for this. Haha.

How much did the powder coated black color cost to put on?

i was lucky. got hooked up by a coworker's friend who is a powder coat guy. $200 to powder coat the rims black + he did the caps black and the engine cover white for free. Getting the tires & rims off, plus putting it back on cost about $100 (pricy, but was close to my powder coat guy). Spent a total of $300.

Yeah. My local rims shop gave me a quote for $500 total for all 4. I'm just not sure if I want to do it or not yet. How do you think the powder coat black will look on metallic slate gray? It looks sick on winter frost like yours but I am not sure how it will look on metallic slate.
