Hey I have the 2.5 stock alloys and I was wondering if there was any special type of paint I should use in painting them.

I was planning on doing a High Temp semi gloss engine paint. Do any of you have experience with this.

I do plan to buy aftermarket rims but I am kinda spent on cash

If I was you, I wouldnt paint them yourself. Get them powder coated.

+1 on powdercoat...paint would peel in no time, especially if you take it to a high pressure car wash or used any type of hard cleaning products

I know a bunch of people who have painted their wheels.. its like painting your nails though...

Since you are doing the work, its no labor... but the paint wont last very long..

I know kids that painted them, then baked them to have the paint harden too... Some locals charge $30-70 a wheel to paint..

I even know a clown who paid 200 a wheel to paint!

Expect it to be something you will touch up regularly, the only thing in your favor is your in an area with no snow.

Rob... just don't do it man. Wait until you get rims. Our stockers aren't that bad.

My cousin has an '07 Max and he painted his stockers with paint from Autozone or Kragen. The first week to a month after he did it, it looked pretty good and I was thinking about doing it. I went to his house a couple weeks back and saw his Max... there are chips EVERYWHERE. Looks horrible. I'm so glad I didn't paint mine.
