I'm planning on painting the black plastic trim pieces around the center console as the existing paint is somewhat worn out.

What kind of paint should I use to match the existing trims? Is there a special technique I should use?

I took black headliner fabric and glued it to the trip pieces so it's sort of upholstered. It's nice and non-reflective, and is holding up fine.

I just used flat black Vinyl and Dashboard paint. Isnt reflective at all, isn't flashy or anything, looks like it did before it got all nasty and dull.

I used VHT penetrating dye (Black Satin). Gave it a real nice flat black look, it looks 10x cleaner than factory(IMO)....I wet-sanded it until I got it even all over...I should post some pics sometime but my digi-camera isn't working properly....New console pieces are hard to find. The only reason I painted mine is because I had nice big scratch on the part right in front of the shifter...I painted that and well I HAD to make it even so did it all...

...thats a fad stage, i went thru iti painted the vents in my oldsmobile in 10th grade...if your honestly gonna paint them do it RIGHT.know how to paint or the'll turn out like crap

Preperation is key, If theirs any oils or greese or INTERIOR GLOSS on them (ie: armor-all and its like) even in the past 6 months the paint will fish-eye like no other... i preped my vents for a week in soapy water (soap that does not contain silicone) ie: kitchen soap. then painted them primer then satin white... took a week to prep a week to paint and a week to dry... but their perfect

the only way I like painted interior is if its color matched with the exterior paint...and done professionally... usually meaning the trim is preped with a layer of fiberglass and sanded too.....but do as you will
