i couldnt find a paint thread so i went with the next subject that i am talkin about.

i know the powder coat guys do a good job at a fair price, but i dont want to spend 160 dollars plus shipping, so i was wondering if there was another way to get a decent paint job on your brakes. i know you can spray paint them but i dont want them to wear off after a week, any experiuence etc.

pics are nice too

thanks

You can use high temp spray paint from autozone. If you prep right, they should last forever. Prep means removing grease, dust and stuff.

after:

the only thing i havent took out is the pistin itself, rings and bushings i have. pretty good shape so i just want to paint these and put them back together. i was planning on a red,or silver chrome or black. any color if i myself paint i, will do literally about 4-5 coats and then a couple clear gloss coats,if anyone can think of a better way please, besides powder coating, spending 160+ dollars aint my idea of fun lol unless your BALLIN

you can get poweder coating for a lot less than $160. I got my z32 calipers powder coated for about $70. you painted them really good so I wouldent worry about it.

Hey that looks really good. That high temp stuff looks really good. My friend had a 300zx and he painted his calipers red with high temp paint. That was 3 1/2 years ago and they still look good.
