Hello every one! I just got my used 08 Rogue SL (not leather tough). My brakes are in the low side, so I bought a set of drilled and slotted rotors and a Posi Quiet Ceramic Brake Pads to replace a stock once. I plan to paint the brake calipers at the same time, so I did some research on caliper paint and it seems like the G2 caliper paint is the best (http://g2usa.com/WordPress/). I realize that the Rogue isn’t a race car, so painting calipers is a bit odd for an SUV, but I got this idea from (don’t laugh) Porsche Cayenne. I love the look of their red calipers… it looks very sporty and unique. So… taking in consideration that my Rogue has a brown exterior, I’m thinking about painting calipers in red with silver “Nissan” labels. I’m kind of new to the Rogue, so any opinion on the color choice would be very much appreciated…

I remember somebody did that in here and had pixs of it. I dont know if it was a style that was different, painted, or different color but it looked nice.

Thanks guys. I think those are not real BREMBO caliper covers. They are just plastic covers that you have to "secure" with the silicon... They are $89 for the set of four and I don't think they will last too long.

Hi Andybond, here is the link to getting my calipers professionally painted: post5592920.html?hilit=enkei%2018%20imola#p5592920. After 6 months, they still look great! I know that he scrubs it down and then bakes the paint on for durability. It cost about $100 and he did it when he put the wheels on, about 1 hour.

Hi dolbydj, thanks for the info, they sure look good. Honestly, I prefer to do the work myself, that way I can save some money and learn something new. Before you painted your calipers in black, Have you considered the red color?

I actually have a can of red caliper paint at home from VHT that I never used for my 1999 Mercury Cougar. It was quite popular to have red or yellow calipers painted around the millenium (Fast and Furious!!) But some home jobs don't wear so well and bright colors get dirty quicker. Thanks dolbydj! Spray paint is not going to last too long , I actually went ahead and ordered G2 red paint and silver Nissan stickers. People are saying that this paint has a high gloss surfice when it dries, and it doesn't attract too much dirt. That will be my project for next weekend. I should be able to post some pictures when I'm done.

The last caliper paint I used was on my 240SX. Despite 3 seasons of racing and intense heat, the coating never failed.

The 'paint' was made by FoliaTec and is a 2 part system with a hardener. The box also includes a bottle of cleaning solution. Application is by brush. The downside is it doesn't come out perfectly flat like spray does.

FoliaTec is a German company and their products aren't the easiest to find. Try eBay or any shop that specializes in German car makes.

For those that remember... the 2005 Altima SE-R brake calipers:

The Brembo's that were available on the G sedans and 350Z were always Gold in color:
