Painting an intercooler

Well i have a buddy who wants to paint his black to go for the "sleeper" look but are there any cons to painting it black? And if it is safe to paint it what kind of spray paint should be used?

my old roomate painted his with a few(i think 3) couts of rattle can. been ok for a year. just dont cake it on there and you should be fine

There's a special kind of paint that transfers heat better than regular spray paint.

But if your gonna spray it with regular, only spray the front part thats going to be seen.And like he said, Don't cake it on.Light passes

I know plenty of people who have painted theres. Only con is that after awhile paint will start chipping and look like s***. My friend put a layer of clear coat over the black and it still looks damn good after a year

i wish i had a picture of my friends IC he had custom made through my roomates shop. They anodized it matte black. its sooo sick
