Since the A34s are getting increasingly more rare and worth more $$$ I decided I needed to get a set of winter wheels so I don't chip the A34s with the gravel and salt. I put my stock 3.5 wheels on my wife's 2.5s coupe, so I decided to use her stockers as my winter set. I used GM black metallic and a few coats of clear. I think they came out looking sweet. I'll post some pics of them on the car when I install them before winter.

I'm impressed. That gives me ideas about my stockers sitting in the garage. I was going to sell them but this ^ just changed my mind. Gunmetal with blue flakes maybe? Yours almost has a blue hue to it, in the right angle/lighting. Next would be to see them on the car?

yeah that metallic sort of gives it a blue hue in the pics. You should def paint your stockers, let me know and ill go though the steps I did and how much paint I used.

It's one of those things where if I put them on a stock coupe it would probably look funny, but on semi modded car I think they would work, or at least a lowered car.

Nice. I have winters on my stock wheels as well and would love to do this. So how much paint did you use? How'd you paint the center cap as well without spraying over the emblem?

Please post pictures when you have the wheels on your car :)

I used about three 6oz-8oz cans from oreilly auto parts, the color I used was "GM Metallic Black". When you pop out the center cap the little nissan burger will pop off too, just squeeze the clips on the back of the center cap. Just sand with 1500 wet/dry paper and make sure the wheels are clean before applying a couple coats of adhesion promoter, then spray on the paint. For some reason this type of spray paint that is supposed to match factory colors doesn't cover well so you have to do at least 5 coats on the wheels because the paint comes out so thin, but the results are worth the time. After that I did 2-3 coats of clear sanded with 1500 grot paper again and then added one last coat of clear.

ill be sure to post pics ;-)

very nice, looks good on the stockers. makes me wish i kept mine when i upgraded, but at the time i needed the cash from selling my stock rims to pay for the new ones. it's nice that the nissan burger pops out too, that makes it easier to keep the burger oem color, if i get some nissan centre caps imma do the same since i have the infiniti centre caps right now.

i bet it will look really nice with your silver coupe once they're mounted

I have a feeling it will. you can't beat the money spent / looks ratio. I think I have maybe $35 into this?
