As some of you may know, I own an 88 Nissan Pulsar and Im dropping a CA18DET into it. Before it goes in I decided to paint the engine bay so it'll match the rest of the car when I get a chance to paint it. Here's the pics:

What do you think?

Looks like a pretty nice color. Very vibrant.

hmmmm where to start, C for effort F for prep. color is good. Only thing that bothers me was you didnt properly mask off lines and bolts you just painted. Non the less nice color.

Nice color, but man you didn't even mask off any of the hoses or bolts for the PS system... stuff like that is so much easier to deal with before hand, even if you would have done a half assed mask job. Now you might have to deal with stuck bolts that you have to force a wrench on because of paint build up.

bolts and screws are being replaced with all new ones and I had 1 day for prep and paint. Combined, I had about 6 hours to get it all done. I did the priming late at night and painted it first thing in the morning. Masking off lines wasnt a big issue for me since:#1 - when the engine is in you won't see the rack & pinion, fuel lines, or anything else like that#2 - the mouldings are getting replaced#3 - the parts I oversprayed are getting covered with pieces that I took out so I have access to paint everything.#4 - like I said before, it needed to be done in a few hours or it would have never of gotten done. My engine has been sitting in the garage for about 3 months now and it's almost time to put it in. Im waiting on my turbo lines that should be here in about a day or so and once I get them, the engine is going in. I work way too much to work on the car and I figured I should paint the engine bay.

Trust me, this work shows about 10% of my capabilities. When it comes to the bodywork on the car and painting it, you will see my true colors shine. Here's a pic of what I have to work with:

It's a horror show. In about 3 weeks you will see how much of an improvement it is and you won't doubt my capabilities

He knows not to mess with me. lol, no, if thats the case then more power to you, but I prolly still woulda tried to mask off more of the brake lines and stuff. I'll hold off my judgment till youre done though, but if thats what youre asking you should hold off on the pics till youre proud of what you've done. Use our criticisms as fuel for your midnight fire and finish that beeotch.

It looks good. I would have masked more stuff off too, but I'm not the one that's got to deal with it. If you're OK with the extra work assocaited with not masking it all off, then I say good job and keep the pics of all the hard work coming!
