painted my 5zigens

one was messed up so i decided to re-paint them. used a metallic gold color, left the lips polished.

yeah, i like the mesh better too, but i was bored so i painted these, im probably going to put the mesh back on and keep the typhoons as a speare set for events or something.

haha, I actually just put the mesh in front because i didnt have enough clearance the way my coilovers are set, the lock rings are right where the wheel edge is and i didnt feel like adjusting them, guess im cursed to buy some bolt on spacers since i can fit my z-brakes with the mesh either.

prep: mask off any surfaces you dont want to changestep1: wipe wheel clean with stripperstep 2: progressivly sand wheel, 220 grit, 320 grit, 400 gritstep 3:wipe dust away and again with the stripperstep 4: dry wheelstep 5: spray with clean metal primer, let drystep 6: spray color coats, sand any blemishes with 400 grit, re-coat untill your happy, let drystep 7: spray clear coats

materials needed: can of paint stripper, 1 can primer, 2 cans desired color, 1 can clear coat, assorted sandpaper, rags

keep the zigens on....but then again, ive neva been a fan of the mesh so my answer is kinda biased. But i give the zigens a thumbs up,

they look sweet, its just people got their own style. and personally i neva took a likin to mesh wheels....im more of the 22's on an civic type.....lol. ok ok seriously, if those mesh wheels were, lets say, given to me *hint* then i wouldnt mind but i wouldnt buy them myself.

yeah, its cool. i think i like all old school wheels because of how they fit on the car, cant find many modern 4-lugs in a 16x7.5+22
