That looks real good. How did you guys paint it? Did you sand it, then paint it flat black? How many layers of paint and clearcoat did you use? Thanks.

had to sand the emblem. prime, paint, clear. 3 coats each, i think.

had to sand the "chrome" on the grill. prime, clear. 3 coats, 2 coats.

The paint quality on the grille is fantastic. What was the paint process your brother used? What paint did he use?

Does your brother make custom basses? I've been playing bass for about 8 years now and I'd love to find a decently priced custom company.

Grille looks good. Would you get in trouble with the dealer ship for painting it? Mine looks just like that but the emblem is chrome and I want to paint it to match the grille.

Not to get off topic, but I love guitars and cars because they can both be functional works of art. <Did this projects when I was in the 9th grade(Junior in college now). It was all black and I decided to sand it down, stain it and coat it. Then two years later I made it fretless. <I did this one recently just painting the pick guard, pickups and knobs. Did it with a stencil, took about 8 hours to cut out. I've only browsed, but does that company only make acoustics?
