Well I painted my car on friday, took about 5 hours total because it was about 40degrees in the shop and the paint took a while longer to dry than normal. But all in all it came out good, cost $260 bucks in supplies including tape and all that stuff. The color is Charcoal Metallic.

Good lord, the size of those pics, can you please downsize for the 56k guys? :D

Do you have 2 different seats? Did you sand/fix any dents?

I like that color - NICE.

Resizing them now. Yeah I will post up the pics soon of the prep and body work. Thats the most tedious part of the job. I started wednesday night and basically worked all day thursday and friday, and painted friday night. Also 2 different seats, the driver side is black leather and the other is just the stock cloth seat.

how much experience do you have with a paint gun? that looks pretty good; was wondering because i was thinking about maybe trying a DIY paint job myself.

My uncle and I painted it, was our first time. The paint gun was a SATA from the pawn shop, it was 80 bucks. Just be sure you have an indoor spot and some ventilation when you do it. Have some paint masks for sure or else you will pass out from the fumes. When you go to buy all the stuff just hope the guy at the paint store is nice and can give you tips. We talked to the guy at the paint shop for quite a while on little techniques and things to do and not to do. Its pretty damn easy though, very attainable to anyone who wants to put forth the effort. Just remember, ANY little dent you have will show with a new paint job, so get them All out before you paint. I will post some pics of the various stages of prep and paint as soon as I get the pictures.

What kind of paint did you use? Were there any dents to be filled?

I painted a car back in Dec that you will see very soon! I wont talk much about it because ill let the owner do that but I can tell you guys that it is one of the sweetest looking 95 S14's that I have ever seen!

Im not sure what kind of paint, the paint store mixed it for me. Color code was KG2G I think. But yeah this is the second day im back to school, and some MORON keyed my passenger side, god damn that makes me mad. Hopefully I can sand it out as I havn't done the final wet sand on the clearcoat yet.

$260?

i'm envious. i'm figuring that i'm going to spend at least $1k to paint mine. And that's without doing the hood, since i want to get a carbon fiber one eventually :xfingers

nevermind my sig pic. the passenger side of the car is what's messed up
