I did it on my F-body...but didn't use the special paint (they didn't make those kits yet). Not sure how it would look on the G....What color goes with Diamond Graphite?

meh. I am not really a fan of painted sliding calipers. I thnk it looks kind of tacky. Even with my z32 brakes, I left them as bare aluminum with a clear coat.

I thought you can buy a sleeve for these. I've seen it on VW in Europe. So instead of painting it you can just buy a heatresistant shield what goes over the caliper. Can't see the different once you installed it.

My brother has a new Lexus IS350 and he's getting his calipers powder coated red... I think powder coating looks a little better than paint, but I don't think it's a stupid Ideal at all! I'd put color on mine, but I think I'm going to see if I can upgrade my calipers to the new G37 calipers if I can find them....

Dude, That is definately HAWT! I'd say if you have any painting skills and aren't worried about minor Fudgeups, then I'd go for it... Red really stands out...

I think it depends from the color of the car and the wheels too. I don't think the blue car with black wheels and red caliper would look too good.

yea the reason i posted this thread was cuz i saw a silver ferrari the other day (about the same silver as my g) and it had red calipers and they looked sick

but i love those brembo covers. would they fit the stock 2003-2007 g35 coupe calipers?

I like painted calipers. I already bought the caliper painting kit for mine but then found out that the paint needs to dry for 24hrs. So I have to wait until I feel like renting a car for a day.

That's one of the reason why the sleeves or call covers are so good. You put it on and you are done. I don't know if it would fit( I doubt it) on the original one but it would be awesome. I've seen some in Europe on VW passat and jetta and golf. Lets hope somebody chime in with more knowedge.

I went to auto zone and bought a can of Duplicolor High Temp Engine Enamel paint, color *universal gold*. It cost me .01 and I'm not joking. Apparently it was the last can they had and must of had in inventory for so long, it was marked down to a penny. Anyways, I removed the caliper from the torque member and used a bucket tall enough to rest the caliper on. I then removed the torque member and cleaned it real good with brake cleaner and a rag. I would apply a coat to the torque member and then go apply a coat to the caliper after I cleaned it. I used a couple rags or even newspaper to mask the area off and to cover up the brake line, brake bleeder and piston. I did the front brakes first, assembled everything back up. Then I did the rear. If you do light coats, they try very fast. I was able to handle the parts about 15-20 mins after each coat. Which you will have to move them around to get all the areas that will be exposed visually. I let the car set overnight before I drove on the freshly painted brake components. It probably took me 1 1/2 for the front and same amount of time for the back.

Since the auto zone didn't have anymore of that particular color, I got another can from Oreilly's just in case I needed more. I used almost 1 can painting everything.

My biggest concern how long the paint will last. I mean go thru our winter nice and salty roads(some of us anyways). The salt they using is hardcore.

it does seem like it would be fairly easy though, you just have to be sure not to spill any fluid
