I painted my bumper covers, fender flares, and rear mudflaps using Krylon Fusion satin black spray paint a few weeks ago. I finally washed my PF and took some pictures.

Looks good,

I just noticed the LE wheels on your SE, was that an option?

I had no idea I had LE wheels. I don't think it was an option.

Its an 01, so yeah LE's came stock with those wheels, while SE;s got the other ugly ones, it most likely was an option to get the LE wheels on the SE, as 99% of manufactures offer that option. I.E you can get a stock merc c280, but yet get the AMG wheels on it.

In 2002, those were the SE wheels, and the LE got 17;s. Another minor change in those wheels was how his have the 5 fake rivets around the rim colored nissan symbol, 02 and up the rivets were removed and the nissan symbol is chrome.

I dunno, maybe the stock wheel options changed by the 2001.5 revision (which is what I have). Here are my factory options according to FAST:

FAST also says that I have an SE model.

I no longer have a spoiler or the Bose system though, as it turns out.

Town,

Looks good, how is it holding up? Spray the side step bars black also. One of the other easy and cheap changes I made was to paint to the red trim around the rear lights black ( I used VHT epoxy paint in satin ).

Where did you download FASTÉ, I remember Pwnin posting a link to that but I kind of missed the boat on that one and soon the link was dead.

The paint seems to be holding up fine. I do need to paint my front mudflaps, but how would the running boards look completely black?

I downloaded FAST off a Russian torrent tracker with a very narrow registration window. It's too large for me to upload anywhere, and even if I created my own torrent it's probably illegal to distribute anyway...

You should think about possibly painting the lower half of the door panels, basically from the trim down. It makes the black flow all the way around the car.

I've considered it after viewing pictures of your Pathfinder, but decided against it. Maybe the running boards or rocker panels, but I wouldn't go so far as to paint half the doors.

This is why spray paint sucks:

Image

There's a hand print left after a front brake job (at least that's when I noticed it). I guess either my friend or I had some brake cleaner or something on our hands which ate some paint.

Also, there's a few light spots where gasoline dripped onto the driver's rear fender flare after filling up, but that's probably to be expected since gasoline basically contains paint thinner.

That's a drag.

Any chance you can do a re-paint without taking them off? Also, would clear coat have helped in this situation?

-I've been thinking about plasti-dipping mine similar to yours, not sure I want to jump rite to permanent. I really like how my plasti-dipped wheels turned out, so the fender flaires etc should look allrite.

I probably could tape things off to re-touch the handprint and a few other spots, yeah. Clear coat might have helped, but my friend used the same paint I did on his front bumper on his Ranger and tried Krylon clear-coat and it looked horrible for some reason, so I decided to forgo the clear coat.
