I'm just looking to see how many people on NICO here are active paintballers. I play every weekend (sat, sun). I belong to a team called evil empire and we have 7 sponsorships. Evil, Empire, and CY Paintball, and Draxxus being our major 4. We get cheap gear, paint, and our paintball guns are also discounted. I'm shooting a CYP Nemesis in Black/Silver fade. It rocks, simply put. http://www.powerstationpaintball.com That's my home field and info about the gun and more gear can be found there. These guns just came out onto the market and I'm loving this. I gave up my auto****er for this gun. Enough of that, I just wanna see how many people out there play actively. We are purely speed ball players although our field has a "city" and woodsball course for the rec players who come in. We have 2 speedball fields. A hyperball (soon to be sup-air) and a vault field.

Well, I aint active. We were trying to get our team back up. But, I have to be the first to do everything. And I havn't decided I want to pay out the kind of money for a decent marker.

I was thinking an A5, but will probally pick up a cheap-o spider at the store, if we get back in. Finding a car and fixing the ones I have have looked more interesting.

EDIT:what i was running. Tippman carbine. 45 grip, double trigger, expansion chamber and bottom line. 16 inch armson stealth barrel.

I haven't been for a while but I am dying to. I boutght a Black Magic Auto****er a year ago and still have yet to use it. I just haven't had much time to play.

I also have a heavily modded Spyder, and a crappy Bruizer. These two have become my spare guns that I let my friends use when we go. The bruizer is just plain crap, but it gets the job done. The Spyder is actually a pretty nice gun. It has few issues and many players are impressed with the rate of fire. One person I was shooting at was surprised is was a Spyder. I put a lot of custom work into the trigger to try and shorthen and lighten the pull. Which is quite limited on a Spyder. My Spyder is also very quiet when you listen from in front of the gun. A 14" barrel has that effect. Though in speedball, it tends to be a bit long as I have to be back from the barriers a bit to get in a good position to peek out with ease. I usually play speedball with the stock barrel.I'm totally itching to go now...

I almost got into airsoft a while back. I am addicted to paintball. I love it more than I do toying with my car. Nothing feels better than seeing a stream of balls fly across the field onto another player's mask. My nemesis rocks.

Paintball guns are really not that complicated. A blow-back design(most popular and cheapest) has only a few moving parts. A blow-forward gun has a chamber that is a little more complicated, but rarely in need of servicing. The simpler parts that are moving are not a big deal to work with. Closed-bolt designs are inherently more complicated and have several moving parts. Once you learn how it operates, it's not difficult to work on. It uses some pnuematics to operate it. Some of these pnuematic actuated parts have to be timed correctly. But as long as you don't mess with the timing there is not much that can go wrong. The bolt is really the only thing that should be removed regularly for cleaning, and this is a rather simple part to remove. A Blow-back gun is usually more complicated to clean(internally).

My nemesis is electro-pneumatic with an open bolt design. I never had a problem keeping my auto****er (closed bolt) timed. It was timed and retimed by myself after every upgrade I installed. It really is a simply process. Just make sure that you keep your gun clean and lubricated, much like a car.

It is but if you don't know how an auto****er works, it can be a bit of an intimidating task. Most people just see a ton of moving parts the first time they pick up an auto****er. As long as you understand the design originated around converting a pump gun into a semi-auto, then it becomes much simpler. The pnuematics are doing nothing more than pumping the gun. It's sucha simple concept, but rather ingenious still.
