I put a Stillen front end on my Altima...the paint keeps cracking. Anyone else have this problem? Should I blame it on the dealer that did the paint job (Regal Nissan Roswell GA)? Does anyone know of a good autobody paint place in Roswell GA that can make the paint stick?

Its whoever painted it did not do the proper procedure (is there a warrantee?) for painting raw plastic. Now the part MUST be taken off and stripped to raw plastic the you need to use a special degreaser and paint prep combined with a plastic paint adhision promoter then you seal and paint the part. I would recommended using a flex additive in the clear coat as this can add some flexability to the clear coat and help resist cracking. Use a reputabale collision repair shop to perform the reapairs.

I realize that this is an older thread, but I wanted to post a response regardless for future reference.

Most STILLEN products are an ABS plastic. You must heat the panel up to release the mold waxes from the plastic. The prepping process is VERY CRITICAL to make the paint stick. My 2012 chin spoiler did the same thing. Paint was literally peeling off in sheets.

JayDubbe, where around the ATL are you? I am out west towards Six Flags. I can recommend a shop if you still need help.

I live near Holcomb Bridge Road up in Roswell. But I can drive anywhere in metro Atlanta to get the best job possible. Who do you recommend that will strip the paint off and then heat it as you suggested?
