Yep - Use vinyl dye. You can buy i at an autopaint shop, make sure you prep the surface WELL.

Take it out of the car (easy job) to make sure it turns out nice.

Painted Dashboard todayI used Dupli-color Vinyl & fabric

First i Painted the Dash

Then the panels on the side of the doors (donno what they are called)

Painted lots of Dookie Brown Interior Parts

Peeled off the nasty Brown Fabric on the door

Door looks better now

I liked the way it all came out looks like its an OEM black dash now.I only bought 2 cans of that stuff and they were only $4.99 each.

The only thing i didnt like was the glovebox it doesnt look right so im gonna apply some black vinyl on it.

haha anyone ever seen a lowrider 240???

Looks very stupid hahah

u can peel those things right off. Just do it gently so u dont rip the vinyl under the fabric

Is the dash easy to take out? - ive done all the peices but the dash... ive heard its alot of work to remove so ive been waiting to do it - if theres a site with all the screw locations, or you could tell me where the hidden screw are and any other tips on removing it ito help me finish faster thatd be cool.

I am sure that it requires that you use the term easy loosely. Keep in mind that it is the size of the interior. But yes, once you have it totally unbolted, you will find that it slides out relatively easy. But I would suggest pulling the center section and the seats, because it will make life a little easier.

Use the fabric and vinyl dye or it won't adhere very well.

http://www.jdmrice.com has a pictorial walk-through. Check it out. Changing my dash took me TWO FRIGGIN' days because it was the dead of winter and I was doing it by myself in an unheated garage. I had to make hot cocoa runs every 1/2 hr, LOL.

The only thing to becareful with the tild lever. It will be in the way when taking out and putting back the driver side trim piece. I rubbed off some of the paint with that.

I'm doing this same thing now except with faded, black interior and cracked earth dashboard.(Bought new dash though.) I started to use Dupli Color vinyl and fabric but when i test shot it on a piece of flat trim with no texture ,the paint added that texture and in the sunlight glared like crazy. So a trip to the automotive paint shops (Sherwin Williams and Color Match_ I found SEM Color Coat #15243-$7.49 plus taxes. It just covers whats there and does not add texture like the Dupli Color was doing. Just another choice.
