Hi, i'm new to this site and i have a 1991 240sx hatch that i want to paint ducati black. I already know it will be expensive as hell. The question: Should I completely strip the car or not? I want it to look good and I can do most of the teardown myself.Thanks.

Anything you can do yourself will save you money - so yes, self prepping it will be a good idea if you really want to do it for the lowest cost.

however.. if you go to a place that will do a good job.. you don't want to prep it yourself if you never did it before.. because if anything.. that shop will want to prep it themselves.. solely because they don't trust you and your prep work since they've never seen it before.. xP just keep that in mind...
