Eww... rattlecan. I do hope that this is a temporary solution. However, I have painted a replacement fender as a temporary solution before a full paint job. I got one can of the automotive DupliColor, and it covered most of the fender. With this in mind I calculate that you would need about 12 cans of color. A similar amount of primer, and as much or more of clear.

That's alot of money in spray paint, and since you will be spending a couple hundred bucks, may I ask why you can't do it with proper automotive paint? It isn't hard.

I gotta recomend against this, it' not as hard as automotive paint, and it'll all have to be removed before you put any areal paint on the car, I'd rather get the budget Maaco paint job, it'll oook better, last longer and isn't too expensive, and if you prep the car by removing as much trim and parts as possible they do a pretty decent job, it's their masking that makes it look crappy

Well, buy one can and spray it on the hood (since it's easily sanded). Use the can up and see how much it covers. Then measure the sq/in covered, and figure out how many cans you will need. Then multiply this number by the cost of the spraypaint and see if that wouldn't put you wellon your way to a quality paint job.

Why not just fix the gun and paint it yourself (the right way)?

autozone sells the duplicolor paint shop line, which is simple as it requires no mixing, but you have few color choices and by the time you build it thick enough to buff out you've spent as much as a better quality paint from a real supply house, if you go to your local supply house you can usually get a good quality single stage fleet white pretty cheap, and for only a little mroe you can have their lower line single stage products which from my personal experience I feel lay better and won't require color sanding, I did my Z31 with the duplicolor paint shop and it looks ok but needs to be color sanded and polished but it's really a bti thin as I was trying to do the job on a tight budget

for your fender mirrors, did you measure and drilled it to a certain spec? or did you just drilled wherever it was perfect for your own vision?
