I have a 2006 Pathfinder SE in Storm Grey. The paint has sploches (darker spots) all over it, like you can see where the spraygun was started and stopped.Does anyone else have this problem?Did Nissan USA remedy this problem ?Please anyone,..help...

ThanxBut no, it is not a buffering type problem, it is a paint problem, like it cpould have used 1 more coat of color before the clear coat was applied.

I just bought an 07 Frontier and have EXACTLY the same problem as you describe. It looks like CRAP and I didn't notice it initially as I took delivery under an overhang in the shade. But there is definitely a problem and I am going to have it adressed in some form. Dealer says they are all like that I say it is going to affect the value of the vehicle immensely unless you buy another nissan from the same dealer at trade time.

I'm pretty sure it's Bird Crap. The acidic nature of urea can go through the clearcoat. WASH OFF THE CRAP! =)

I found one small spot on the drive side front fender before we bought the 06. I mentioned it to the salesman and they got it out.

Go talk to a detail specialist (They know how to polish and bring back a paints finish with a minimal amount of pain.)

I had this exact same problem when I took delivery of my 2003 Sentra SE-R.(Mine is silver grey). When I took it back to the dealer a week later, the body shop foreman knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. It has something to do with the original paint job not "baked" evenly or properly. I left it there for a day and got it back in perfect shape. It did not have to be buffed or re-painted or anything. It was almost 4 years ago now so my memory has faded somewhat, but basically all they had to do was apply some gentle heat to the affected areas, and the splotches dissapeared. If you like, I'll drop by my dealer and ask them exactly what they did, and pass it on to you. Either way, I'd talk to your dealer and find someone who is familiar with the problem. Don't get talked into a re-paint just yet.
