DJ2 is usually referred to as Diamond Jade, but it's real name according to ITB93-051C is Black Emerald. Well named.
Might check ITB93-024C about the late 1993+ Cross Linked Clearcoat process.
You'e right, maxnix, it is well named. Most unusual paint I've ever seen.Short story:I had bought a used charcoal metallic Q45, then read about the "t" model, with 4 wheel steering ("HICAS"). I had to have one, a '94, and called the used car manager at the dealership, and asked him to find one. He told me that they were very scarce, but he'd keep his eyes peeled for me. I called him every month for 6 months, no '94 Q45t. One day, he called me and told me he found one, that I HAD to come and look at it. I asked him what color it was, and he told me it was green. GREEN?????? I told him I wouldn't be caught dead driving a GREEN car. He then strongly advised me to at least come and look at it, he was sure I'd like it depite it being "green". I went reluctantly. When I saw it, I bought it on the spot. Best paint jo I've ever seen.
And yes, you're right. The G50, especially certain years and versions are hard to forget.
Now, my 2005 Q45 is White Pearl, a color I wanted but never thought I'd find in a used one. I read some very good things about the durability of this paint, and like the Black Emerald, I'm very pleased with it.
