I have a new paint job in the future if my new job ever comes through (damn state contract freeze!). My car was apparently wrecked and re-painted on the passenger's side and there's a lot of overspray on the window seals, etc. plus there are all the little dings that come with 151K+ miles. Now, since I'll have a beater if my new job ever comes through, I was thinking about just re-doing the interior while I'm at it. Is there a place besides the dealer where I can get window seals, trim fasteners, carpet, etc.? As far as the paint itself, I'll probably have it done in the stock color. Since I'm daydreaming, I'd like to have it done in that bluish purple (or burple as I call it) color I see on some Mustangs. Does anybody know the real name of that color? It'll probably never happen since I'd have to pull the motor to get the engine bay sprayed, plus all the extra $$$ it would cost.

Just got back from the paint store. I priced 2 qts. of Aztec red and a gallon of clear for $164. I'll definately be going with my current color. Couldn't possibly pay for the change to "blurple". Unless I hit the Powerball jackpot.

There's an auto paint supply store about 10 minutes from my house. The guy had two different options, one was $64 bucks for two quarts, the other was way over $100. He said as long as I got a good clear the cheaper paint should be fine. Since he sells paint for a living, I guess he wouldn't yank my chain about it.

Is Aztec Red anything like the bright red I see on ford Zx2s? That is the color(or something close) I am looking at for my car when I am done, if I can't find Nissan Hot Red(or atleast thats what the touch up says).

I feel for ya groundhog, my car was also repainted on it's passenger side. there was overspray in the front right fender well, and on the undercarriage underneath the passenger door. and the passenger side shows more grey-hairline scratches all over it, and it's cracking in places, and some surface rust is starting to appear on the roof and around the gasdoor and underneath the passenger door. posting this reply reminds me...i need to pick up a can of black spray paint for the rear fender well.

megaseth--- i want to see a pic of your s13. the wangan wing sounds sexy!

I'm definately not going w/ a Maco paint job. I see specials where they're doing paint jobs for like $300. There's no way anyone can do it right for that amount of money and make a profit. Hell, just the materials should cost 1/2 to 2/3 of what they charge for the whole job. Since I'm on vacation, I might just go visit body shops today to see their work.

hmm, i thought it was the Fushia. anyways, i likes the color, it looks good for a stock color. yeah, im skepticle about a maaco job, but like i said i dont really want a super nice $2000 paint job. but my uncle has connections, so if i can just buy the paint, im sure he has some guys who could do the painted for me.

Sky, im gonna try and get some pics posted on my website for school, so when i do, i'll let you know. i will warn, you, the car has a white front end, red back, and black wing and its really really dirty.
