Hey guys Im helping a friend paint the bumpers on her 2000 nissan maxima and was needing some advice. The paint we used didnt have any gloss in it and looks different from the car even after clear coating, so my question is, should we go with a semi gloss or a full gloss paint? The car is black and the paint code is khb6. Ive tried searching but to no avail. Im a 240sx guy so Im not too familiar with this maxima. Thanks in advance -John

look up MY RIDE thread and click my photobucket link. under corolla you'll see pics with a body kit painted black with gloss enamel paint - is that the outcome you're looking for?

That looks about right, but in order to be sure Id have to be able to compare it to the stock maxima color. How did you paint yours? Sorry if you described how in your ride thread, I didnt have time to go through it. Thanks -John

i had it painted on the car with a pro spray gun and it came out near perfect with only a single coat - this paint is great and i'll give you the name later tonight (gotta find the can). since the bumper is a big piece a rattle can won't be enough for even, long strokes. wal mart carries electric spray guns for fences etc for under $100 that do a good job. to prep the bumper wipe it down well with a rag soaked with paint thinner - gets rid of any kind of grease etc - pretty simple job.
