I have noticed a spot the size of a baseball that looks the beginning of surface rust on the hood of my 2006 m35x. It is in front of the passenger close to the window. Anyone ever had any issues with the infiniti paint? Also I believe lifetime warranty on the paint from infiniti?

Most body panels are aluminum, so I doubt it is rust. Might be poorly done body work? In any case the warranty on the paint defects would cover it if is not associated with body panel repair.

I have a Red 2006 M35 that has severe clear coat peeling. Since I am a second owner, Infiniti told me too bad even though I purchased from the dealer (not certified). It started as white dots that got bigger and eventually peeled. Started on the roof now have dots on hood and trunk lid. The dealer accused me of having the car painted. No chance of that, they even gave me a clear car fax when I bought it. Love the performance of the car but will never buy from Nissan again.

Try another dealer, it should be covered if it's oem and never painted.

Never had issues with paint on an Infiniti.

As for clear coat peeling, the car was either repainted by the previous owner or they had a detailer cutting the clearcoat too often - which ground the clear layer off. Did you get any type of warranty when you bought the car?
