Paint Finish advice needed

My mulberry finish on my 1994 Q45a on first glance looks excellent. However if I look at it on an angle I can see what appears as water spots. However I can't remove them with even quite vigorous hand polishing using Mothers wax with oxidation remover.

Is the Infinity finish prone to this problem and what would people suggest as a way to deal with it?

Infinti paint on your year and model car is actually real resistant to blemishes.Sounds like someone left bird droppings on the car for a long time.

I have similiar spots due to my car being left sittign outside over a year.

Few other things will cause thses spots.Taking a colored wax will minize the visibility of this.

Don't think it was bird droppings unless it was a whole flock with Metamucil for a diet. The effect is on all the horizontal panels and there are many of them. For example on the trunk there are probably about 100 spots. They are very subtle and can only be seen of you look at the finish on a sharp angle. Unless you were looking hard you wouldn't see this so it is livable with.

use a clay bar to get all the marks off the paint and then polish and wax.

You might try j30t's and try one of those Mother's California Clay Bars (I believe thats what they're called)... I have never tried one but have heard great things about them.

The clay bars are ridiculously wonderful. I use Mothers Gold on my Q.The photo below is after a clay bar treatment followed by TR3 glaze. Absolutely freaking stunning.

Acid Rain, it can strike anywhere, anytime in the NE. So common now, that is why you now see all new cars delivered with the white shrink wrap stuuff on the upper surfaces. Claybar is the best solution.

I concur with Q45Viper and others.

Take a day and do the following:

1) Wash car with Dawn (don't ask, just use Dawn).

2) Clay bar the entire car, follow instructions in claybar package.

3) Now is a good time to touch up scratches with factory touchup.

4) Use a good quality paint treatment (NOT a wax or polish) such as Zaino or 5Star (buy it on NICO, see ad). This will provide an optically clear barrier (and exceptional shine) that will repel dust and dirt and will prevent further damage to the paint. After the treatment, you can wash the car without a rag or mitt - Dirt will rinse right off.

Don't be fooled by the advertising hype for products you can buy at an autoparts store - Even the best of these will not outperform products like 5Star and Zaino.

There is one downside to TR3 glaze. If you already have perfect paint, it can cause a semi-sticky layer that attracts dust, so keep a California Duster handy. Otherwise, I've used TR3 to restore faded paint on a 1988 Mazda 929, and it brought back a shine that NO OTHER product could, and maintained that shine permanently. Also used it on a friend's 88 Chevy Cavalier, which looked like faded, oxidized crap. Managed to make it look like a well-maintained vehicle, ready for resale.

But apparently Zaino is magic, and I'll have to try it this spring.

TR-3 uses a lot (a LOT) of solvents... It's an old-school product, that has been used for years to restore bad and poorly-maintained finishes. Not a bad product, but it's not great for clear-coated cars, and better for old, tired paint where nothing else helps.

Zaino and 5Star use the same technology, contain NO solvents and no abrasives - They produce depth of shine like no other product. Don't tke my word for it - Do a search for independent tests conducted by the NSX Club and the Corvette Club of America. The Bentley guys, Jag guys, and Viper guys swear by it.
