Anyone else noticing that paint seems to chip almost too easily on your Coupe? I've had to do two touch up jobs already. Yesterday after a good waxing I found TWO rather LARGE chips behind the drivers side headlight that I actually mistook for water spots!

I've just never had a car that seam inly chipped so much and so fast. Of course I've had the car since June and just had my SECOND oil change.

6100 miles and counting ... (Oy too fast!) I don't think I've ever driven so much. However this car is actually great to drive so maybe thats why!

I am not seeing that issue with mine (Blue). It was involved in an accident and the rear bumper was bashed and the rear quarter panel dented - no paint chips from that either. Nothing in the front where you would expect to get chips (we have had the coupe since August). What color is your coupe? Perhaps the issue is color specific.

Yeah, the paint does chip pretty easily. I have a few nicks and chips on the bumper already. I had that same issue with my truck also.

Last night as I was getting ready to drive off this idiot who was parked behind me was pulling out and bumped me pretty good. Luckily I was present to discuss the damages. (Otherwise I'm sure he would've just drove off) I was surprised to see that after washing it real good there wasn't a lot of damage, only a few scuffs on the edge of the bumper. (Should easily buff out) Being as it was a Yukon and I felt the "thump" from the inside, I thought the paint held pretty well. Worth mentioning: my car is P.Grey.

All cars are like that nowadays. So far, Nissan and Infiniti have been better than my Honda's regarding paint.

I traded in a 2006 Honda Civic SI for the A/C and my Honda was black. It had terrible scratches. It scratched if you sneezed on it. Otherwise, the car was great. I will never get another black car though. To needy in the upkeep. My A/C is pearl white.

I still have an 04 Accord Coupe in white and I will tell you, the Honda paint is not holding up well.

NIssans paint has had issues for a while now, look on any Nissan forum, unless a special color like Brickyard, we have pretty much a mid grade MAACO job.

I have a special color, Adriatic blue (azure blue), and there is no chipping whatsoever, I'm quite surprised actually

I have the same problem on the passenger side near the handle. I think it's the girls fingernails that scratch when she opens the door

Im so pissed...Like 2 weeks ago i had a huge scratch across my hood.. who knows from where...It was nice yesterday and i cleaned my car.. I must have a rock chip i guess... on the front of the hood.. completley down to the aluminum... a little smaller than the size of an eraser... Im really considering this clear bra now...

now, I don't have that problem b/c I open the door for my girl... I'm just teasin' man, lol.

As for me, i don't have any chips yet... (knock on wood) I have Azure Blue...but I know chips are inevitable... watch me get one today...haha.

Regarding black... my old car was black. Black looks totally nice, but does require a lot of up keep. But I had a lot of time back then...

Yea, I already have a rock chip on my front bumper. I guess because i took 3 road trips so far in my coupe. Its not so bad but everytime i wash my car and see it, it just annoys me.

The other night, i went to walmart and some dumb*ss went in from the wrong way and tried to park and rubbed on my passenger door. It was at night so i couldnt tell when i came out but the next morning, i saw it and i was furious! Most of the marks came off but there are black marks still visible. I tried scrubing the rest down with hot water and it still doesnt seem to come off. How can i take take off the black marks?

A decent polish should take it out easily. Try anything from Meguires, Turtle ICE, or any other reputable brand. If the polish doesn't work, you could always count on rubbing compound. Just be sure to wax, wax, wax afterward!
