When I picked up my 2007 Versa with 29 miles on it, there was a chip on the hood as this was the "car show car". The dealer, Harte Nissan, said they would fix it and get me a loaner while they had it.
The first time I took it in, they used one of the dent repair services to just basically rub some color-back type product on it. I told them no way and they then said they would paint the entire hood.
So, after much hassle coordinating the loaner car (>1 month), I picked it up to find out they used touch up paint on the chip instead. So it has the look of a bad finger nail paint job.
Has anyone seen a Nissan repair document that outlines the correct way to perform a chip repair? If I recall correctly, it can be done, but requires some wet sanding and clear coat. It's probably better to paint the hood, but I need something to beat the dealer over the head with.
-Thanks in advance!
