Well I bought a pretty nice pearl white 5 spd s13 se coupe a few weeks ago and overall I am happy. It drives great, still pretty quick and looks really nice. I knew going in the the HUD had the cold weather problems but I just noticed something today. The odometer does not work while the HUD does not work. Same goes for dash lights. This mean the car which has about 220k miles could have a lot more because it never counted them while it was cold. If the previous owners didn't notice this then that means the oil change intervals could have been messed up too! This blows. I never intended on keeping the motor but it still bothers me. Oh well, I just wanted to vent. I might fix it.

MY ODO USED TO STICK LIKE THAT (YOUR PROBLEM SOUNDS LIKE SENSOR THOUGH). I HAD THE SPRING CHANGED ON MY ODO AND IT WORKS NOW.

If the motor is still running at 220k, the oil change intervals probably were atleast pretty close if anything. Takes a good bit of maintainence to have a motor go over 200k in MOST instances.

over 220k. considering engine swaping would not be bad.(Fix odo first)

I'll get those pics eventually. Its been snowing and its white so of course it's filthey. I paid 2500.
