Pffft.

Head gasket came back today. There are two guides for bolts on the block, or whatever they are supposed to be. The gasket will not fit over them. The holes cut for the cylinders are not circular. Looks like someone lasered them by hand. I don't know if the water passages are even cut right because I can't fit the thing over the guides. Looks like there will be some overlap that will cut down the flow.

The head studs turned out to be 10x1.5, not 12x1.5 like they were supposed to be.

I just emailed them, should hear back tomorrow. This will be interesting.

Are you sure it's a 12x1.5 pitch thread?

Considering the stud can slide in and out of the block, it's not a 10. I've got a tap and die kit and that's what it indicates.

THAT DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT, DID YOU SEND THEM AN EXAMPLE OF THE HEAD GASKET AND HEAD BOLTS? CAUSE IF THEY MESSED UP WITH AND EXAMPLE ON HAND THEN, MAN I DON'T KNOW IF I WANT THEM TO DO MY CRANK, RODS AND PISTONS.

yea it's definetly not a 10. But it's weird, I ordered 10x1.5 studs from arp, they turned out a little small. It would screw in, but was loose. I measure one of the head bolts and it turned out to be 10.85mm. I called arp and they're sending me 11x1.5 studs now. I hope it works. This is for the RB25 btw.

No you have to measure it yourself, they won't do it.

Yeah, it may be an 11 or 10.85, whatever the hell size that is. Anyway, they should have done it properly and I will be sending them back.

Just went out and lokoed at a stock bolt. The shaft is thinner than the threaded part. Paeco got the shaft part right, 10mm. The threaded part extended out a bit. I have no idea why, maybe because the aluminum head expands when hot?

http://home.earthlink.net/~4rc...1.jpgThat's a pic of the ARP stud vs the head bolt. Shaft is the same but the bolt thread is slightly larger.
