Paddle Shifters?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Maybe Steve the Tech can chime in here, but does anyone know if this Paddle Shifter kit for the 07 and 08 G35 will fit the EX35? I asked Sewell, and they said they have not had the opportunity to try, but they did not "think" it would work. Both cars are similar, and it would be a nice addition if it did.

I sent an email to an Ebay seller today asking about the kit for the G35: PADDLE SHIFTER KIT INFINITI G35 4DR, G37 2DR BLACK OEM ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...123 )asking if it was possible to use it on the EX35 or if the EX35 would come "pre-wired" for the kit, see below his answer

Answer from Seller: riverside-infiniti (3340)

no, this kit is not compatible with the EX unfortunately, we are still looking into paddle kits for the EX.thank you

Agreed ... paddle shifters in my EX would be awesome!!

The other thing I'm looking for is redundant turn signals either on the mirror or on the door/front fender ... thoughts anyone? (SteveTheTech?)

Thanks!David

If yes check these out Dave.

Also the JDM version of the G35/37 comes with side blinker on the fender. You can look into it. I prefer the mirror blinkers tho. They are lot more sexier. The fender one too old school.

Hey zozo what's going on? It's been a while.

Sorry guys I missed this one, I hunt problems as my first priority and um... have been slacking recently and failed.

I often do not take the advice of Ebay sellers for certainty, however given that the EX has a seperate wiring harness and the EX doesn't have paddle shifter as an option on any trim levels I am do not it would work.

Although I agree with you guys that is something that should be an add-on. However I see the original design POV since they did not know how the EX would be perceived and I think that when they update it, if ever there may be an S model available. That would actually be pretty interesting. Mixing the fun of a G37 with a 7 speed and VVEL to the practicallity of an EX. If they were to apply some scotch guard to the seats it would also be a great improvement, although the seats are amazingly supple and I enjoy sitting in them.

Do you mean the ones like some of the other makes out there where you hit the button once and they blink 3 times?

If so I do not know, but I will have to look into it. Maybe there is some way to use an inline relay... Mmmm the possibilities.

I would settle for a chime to let you know your blinkers are still on. I often find myself driving with a directional on after changing lanes on the highway. Maybe its because of the way I sit, that I cant see the placement of the directional lights. I also believe that it takes a significant amount of "turn" to actuall trigger the shut off.

No, nothing that complex. I mean fender-mounted (or mirror-mounted) lights on either side of the car that go on when you signal. That way, a vehicle directly beside you in close proximity can see that you're intending to come across.

Even cheap cars like the Chevy Aveo, Toyota Yaris, Mazda 3, etc, have them. My Audi had them; my wife's Subaru has it on the mirrors. For me, this is a safety issue. I would gladly trade my entire Lane Departure Warning and Prevention system for this.

Hope that clarifies things,David
