i had a custom exhaust put on about a year ago and they suggested not to raise the pipe diameter so i didnt i eliminated the resinator. Put a ractive muffler with duel 3 in angled tips. I got the monza pacesetter exhaust system and it sucked when i got it because the guys at the muffler place put a new cat on and removed the nice and easy flanges so i have a leak at the cat me and my buddy are going to fix that this weekend with a coupling but why they told me not to go bigger in pipe diameter i dont know because the pipe diameter on the monza is 2 1/2 in and the performance comparitive to my old is so much better

No, pacesetter bad. I would go with a 2.5 to 3" exhaust. You probably don't want to go any bigger than that on an NA motor. Go with BRM, Apexi, GReddy, HKS, something else besides Pacesetter, they don't make very good performance exhaust systems. But it depends on whether you really want to spend the money on a nice one. The performance will be much better if you are willing to spend the money. Do you need to know some sites where you can get a performance exhaust?

OK this is something im tired of seeing. Pacesetter isnt a bad system to use. Ive had one on my car for well over 3 years now and its still like it was when it was shipped.(Sans some paint and a few scrapes) Have you ever had a Pacesetter exhaust before? If not you have no room to bash it at all. I plan on giving a Pacesetter header a try soon since they DO make a good exhaust.

Dude... i have a pacesetter monza exhaust and i have no complaints whatsoever about it. Its got a good tone to it, its not overly loud and it makes good, consistent power throughout the powerband with very little of the parasitical torque loss in the lower rpms.

Now pacesetter's headers i would be wary of... ive never used them, but ive heard of them interfering with your steering and sometimes requiring some custom fab to make em work...

They don't effect steering, but I had a hell of a time fitting the EGR. But then again, the design of that is awful, so maybe Nissan is to blame.
