Yup.... Did exactly that. Set it to version 3. I have done this before and never had this much trouble. If I had a bad ground, would the interface act like its sees the commands and still not program them? I mean the LED interface went off after every command, so it was recognizing them. And I know that I tapped the right wires. Unless it wasn't getting ENOUGH of a good signal from the taps, but in that case it shouldn't have recognized them.

It's possible that you got a bad unit. Have you talked to whoever you bought it through about swapping it out?
