For all you Pennsylvanians I have bad news. I have recently heard rumors from some friends who own services centers that PA will be adding emmisions testing to annual inspections. I dunno how strict it will be just that they will be runnig the tests via the data link connecter. If this state ends up like california I am moving....lol

A lot of county's in PA already have a emissions program. The OBD II testing is on the way.

old news. Not all counties required it. In Bucks County we've had that emissions test for a few years. The tester costs the service center several thousand bucks, so I wouldn't expect a $5 test.

helly yeah, i have only put maybe .2 miles on my car in the last 7 months :ylsuper

Testing in my area has been around for ever, they put the car on the rollers, hook it up to the sniffer, and send the data to the state. At least they dont care what motor is under the hood :)

Berks County is one of the places that's starting emissions testing soon. I see tons of cars in Reading with the "James Bond smoke screen" effect, and I'm sure getting these vehicles inspected won't be a problem.

I'd imagine there will be plenty of places to go get an "inspection". Not really that different from the current state of affairs.
