Hi there I drove over a pothole yesterday and the check engine light came on. Read it with a OBD and says code P1762. Direct Solenoid Connection. Any words of advise? Thank you

P1762 is strictly an electrical code, not hydraulic. Since it happened after a pothole, you might have a weak spring in a connector or a wire in the transmission or transmission bundle that's getting fatigued. The TCM in your ride is located on the Valve Body inside the transmission, so chasing a bad connection may not be simple. One thing that happens frequently with old age is cracked solder joints on the TCM circuit board connectors. That can be easily repaired by retouching the joints with an iron and fresh solder, but of course requires dropping and inspecting the VB.

Hi I just wanted to follow up on what happened with my car. Based on this forum and YouTube I figured it was probably a solenoid or the Transmission Control Unit Module (TCM) for the transmission. So I purchased a refurbished one w/ solenoids on Amazon that was returnable for $185. I waited until it arrived and then found a well reviewed independent transmission shop and had the M45S towed over. Long story short I was correct in my diagnosis and the mechanic changed out the TCM for $500. The Solenoids were not needed. Car is again running perfect all in for $685 which is a fraction based on research of what Nissan/Infiniti would have charged(2-3K). 2006 fully loaded Infiniti M45S with factory ground effects and 194K. Love the car best car out of 14 different I've owned in my lifetime. Cheers.
