P1493 code

I have a 1998 nissan maxima gxe. I recently have replaced the valve covers and cleaned out the egr tube. I had no dummy lights on before I started working on the car. After I finished it have a p1493 code that says it's a evap purge code. I can not find anyone else with this code on the Internet. I have rechecked my vacuum lines and they seem ok. The car is becoming harder to start and sort of pops. The idle is slightly lower than normal too. Ido say 500-600rpms. Losing my damn mind with this. I also have recently acquired a knock sensor code too. I fill up with premium fuel only. Any help guys would be much appreciated.

Check the gas cap first-are you closing it until it makes a racheting sound?

Yes the gas cap is tight. The car seems to be using a ton of fuel too.

Use the Service Manuals through this website

P1493 is "EVAP Canister Purge Control Valve/Solenoid Stuck Open"

Section to work with is "EC" or engine controls
Look on pages EC-415 to EC 421.

Test the solenoid electrically and verify the hoses are not plugged/split
