So I got a cel for 1456, which is a very small leak in the evap system. I cleaned the o-ring and seat for the gas cap since that is the easiest to start with. I'm not sure if it is gone or not, but does anyone have any suggestions on the easiest things to check first if it does come back?

Is the filler neck rusty? I had the same code and took scotch brite to my rusty filler neck and shined it up. I stuffed a rag in so no debris would fall in. Haven't had the code come back. I did that 3 months ago or so, so I think I've got it licked.

There is a very slight amount of surface rust on the filler neck, and I guess worth it to clean. It would have been nice if Nissan included the splash guard that then 2000-2001 got, but I guess that is besides the point. I have a friend who I'm trying to coax into letting me borrow his work's smoke machine to check for any leaks otherwise.

I don't. I haven't gotten a code since I took the surface rust off the filler neck, so I think that was the problem.
