remove the black canister first & inspect it, if there are debris or pellets coming out, it's no good, u have to change it, then clean the lines from the canister to the engine. Don't replace the purge control valve yet, it's not easy to replace this. Compressed air to purge the lines is a good way to clean it. Erase the code & drive it, see if the code comes back. Normally we replace the purge control valve too to make sure, they superceded the part already(better design?). I just replaced one yesterday, I have to disassemble it to remove it under the intake phlenum, then diassemble again the new purge valve to install it. It won't come out under the phlenum. I have to remove the upper radiator hose to make room.
