P1444 Purge Valve Solenoid

I have an 03' M45 with around 83k miles and just got the SES light. Got the code read and have the P1444 code. Its saying Purge Valve Solenoid sensor. I was wondering how many have had this code come up and if so, what was the solution? I also found there is a TSB for this as well. My dealer already said since its out of warranty most likely any TSB would not be covered.

I was planning on having the purge valve canister and the sensor replaced. From what I've read the canister can also be the root of the problem. Dealer wants around $330 just to replace the sensor. Any help is appreciated.
