I just got this code cleared and I guess Im waiting to see if it comes back.

I read this link 01 pathfinder 3.5 se code 1320 engine random misfire

I have an emissions test coming up in april so I want to know if this will effect that test and can I just drive on it until I get a code that gives me more info?

Now I'm just wondering what is the average cost for an ignition coil?

Difficulty of procedure?

if your refering to a spark plug coil, then courtesy parts says yur lookin at like 90 buks.

and difficulty, easy. take out the bolt that holds the coil to the valve cover, pull the coil out, unplug it, plug in new coil, put coil back in, put bolt back in. shud b a quick fix.

lucky you roger, the 3.5 used in yur pathy has the coil sold as one piece, in 02-04...i gotta 03, the coil, plug boot, and spring are all sold sperately, and cost more 2 replace. but i guess if u have a plug boot go bad u have to replace the whole coil for another 90 buks, i can spend alot less on a seperate boot. ehh win some loose some....ok sorry i rambled, ya 90 buks accordin to courtesy parts, easy do it yurself job. have fun. haha

I checked the prices in the above link. What is the difference in price about and does cylinder #1 have a differently shaped coil. I'm assuming the site is right just looking for conformation from someone who knows or has done this before.

Also the code came back today

Do you think I will ever see a cylinder specific code if I keep reseting the 1320 code?

Thanks in advance

couldn't say other than might have something to do with tdc or the fact that that cyclinder1 is first to fire to start engine hence higher voltage, but i have never really thought about this before, but i would think something along the line of being better quality than rest

As soon as I saw the title I thought ign coil. lol, I use to work at a nissan dealer a few years ago, that seemed to be sort of a common issue, along with the o2 sensors and ecm update, thats about all that I really saw that was sort of common, its been a while though. Nissan did a great job on the VQ motors though!

Stealership - $117.20

Part Source - $82.89

Napa - $120

I think I might just buy the after market coils from part source because it will save me almost $200.

Are these after market parts really known to be that bad?

Bought all coils installed them and now just waiting to see if the CEL light comes back on.

Cost me $562 for parts Replacing the parts was easy.

Does anyone know how to test these coils I removed, if I can test them?

You don't need to remove them to test them. You can test each coil pack one of two ways. You can use an oscilloscope and test each coil pack wire at the ECM and this will tell you which coil pack is not performing. The other method is to use an OBD-II reader (or CONSULT-II) and use the datalogging feature and monitor each coil pack for signal discrepancies (using the FSM's signal diagrams). This will tell you which specific coil is acting up. This can also tell you if all of your other coils are operating within specifications and maybe let you know if another is about to fail.

Dammit I could have gotten my hands on an oscilloscope before I spent all that money.

Oh well I hope my problem is gone or I am going to be rather cheesed.
