P1148 error

Car: 1998 Nissan Altima GXE

Recently, my Nissan began to run irregularly when coming to a stop. The tach will dip down below 1rpm and the engine will idle rough. If the accelerator is pressed; the car will go; but will hesitate and will not excide 25mph. Eventually the car will fix itself; or if I turn off and restart the car.

My Service Engine Soon light came on and provided a code of P1148 Manufacturer Fuel Air Metering. After doing some research; I found that there could be a number of causes. My concern is that my wallet is not deep and I do not want to replace a number of unnecessary parts.

Has anyone else come across this with other Altima’s?
