I was under the impression that this was the drivers side for this code. So i bought a new sensor(i think) and replaced it. it was short and round and it was on the front of the engine block http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detai ... ion+sensor. Installed it, cleared the ecu and started it up. No CEL. then, after idling a bit, it came back on. I read the code ... p1145! wtf?! so i cleared it again, same thing only this time the CEL is blinking at me. like blink blink blinnnkkkkk blink blink. any ideas?

The part you ordered does not look like a camshaft position sensor:

You say you replaced something at the front of the engine? Can you provide a picture of where exactly you installed your new part? I had to replace both of my camshaft position sensors and they were not on the front of the engine block. I followed this guide. I bought two of these from Amazon and have not had any issues.

Yeah you need the part as listed above.

Also you may want to look into replacing both sensors, when mine went the other one went shortly after.

Yuck. My "bad" sensors didn't look nearly as bad as that. Glad you got it fixed!

I agree, yuck. That's a sign that the whole engine looks like that inside. Have a peek through the oil filler cap.

May be time for an engine flush and synthetic oil.
