Hey Guys,

So I pull the code...and I get a P1145 - I suspect it was because I was driving pretty hard and fast on the freeway yesterday...

Anyways, I cleared it and it hasn't come back...

If it does, i'm going to replace the sensor. Is it true I only need to take out the 10mm screw, replace the sensor...it sounds so simple that even I could do it...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hmm, the code came back after reset....it throws the P1145 code twice...

Am I correct in assuming it is the solenoid?

The thing i'm noticing is...it only throws the code when i'm driving on the highway and flooring it to pass someone...

Here's the thing: It doesn't come back on turning the engine off, then on, then off etc. I'm 99% sure it's only during hard driving...

Pls help!

I don't think it's the sensor due to my 5000km oil change for mobil 1 synthetic....

easiest way to determine if its the sensor or the solenoid is to switch the right and left sensors, (one plastic connector and one 10 or 12mm bolt each) clear the code and wait til it trips the light again. if you still have an 1145, the solenoid is bad. if you have an 1140, its the sensor.

the solenoid, im not sure because i didnt have an issue with that. my code was due to a faulty sensor.

Interesting...

From what I read yesterday...

If it throws the P1145 code twice...it's the solenoidIf it throws it once, it's the sensor?

Sound right to you?...sigh

yep thats right, granted you swapped the sensors from right to left and vice-versa. if you swap them and reset the codes, and get the same code when the light comes back on, its a bad solenoid on that side. if you get a different code after swapping the sensors, its the sensor that is bad.

Interesting....been doing mobil1 changes every 5000kilometers...

I'll try the sensor. Seems easy, one screw, swap...

yea it is pretty simple, plus it saves you from guessing wrong. i dont know that the oil change really has anything to do with it being the sensor or not.

Those two screws (one on either sensor) are like impossible to get to. Any ideas?

i had to take that gray plastic cover off and then the drivers was easy to get to from the front of the motor, the passengers was a bit more difficult to access. if i remember right i had to take the battery out and unbolt a wiring harness because that one bolts in sideways, not front to back like the drivers side.

Perfect. Problem fixed...cleared the code, and replaced the sensor...

Hopefully problem goes away...

My mechanic friend at the dealer is meeting with me over dinner....so we can bypass the dealer

I figure...

$20 for me to buy him dinner.Cheaper repairs = priceless
