Hello yet again i am having problems, I had the p1140 code pop up on me replaced the Crankshaft position sensor passenger side and as soon as i turned the car on again the code popped up again. All i did was drive it down the driveway for it to turn back on. I guess my question is if it wasnt the sensor is it for sure the Intake valve timing control solenoid valve and if so where can i get one and is this easy to replace. OH yeah its an 2001.5 pathfinder., Also I just changed the oil and did a tune-up as well. The old sensor was pretty gumed up so I thought for sure that was it. There was oil in where the sensor goes is there suppose to be?

Thanks

What brand of sensor did you use as a replacement?

You say you replaced the crankshaft position sensor, but P1140 is for a camshaft position sensor. Which one did you replace?

Beck Arnley 180-0509 cam angle sensor is the sensor I used and it was the cam sensor not crank. Sorry for the misinformation.

Definitely a cheap sensor it did no good I swapped them now I am getting code for bank 2 , guess ill go to dealship tomorrow and get a good one. Now the lights flickers and dummy lights flicker on then back off when high beams are turned on and there is a slight whinning noise. I can't win!

I'm not sure about those noises and flickering, sounds like a bad ground somewhere... but OEM sensors should work fine. I've used Standard Motor Products sensors in my engine and they have been working well for 15k+ miles and 2 years. Let us know what happens with new OEM sensors.

Will do if the dealership ever gets me the right part! Gave me a crank sensor instead of cam.
