I got this car as a hand me down, its a 01 qx4. It recently started hiccuping at stoplights, when its cold like when I go to work in the morning when its idling it will PURR like a kitten, but when warmed up and running for a while when I stop at a light it will feel like the engine misfires and sputters for a sec, runs fine for a few seconds, stutters again... sometimes more than others.. sometimes it wont do it for a light or two. But it NEVER does it with a cold engine

So I pulled the CEL today and I got a P1110.

That aparently is car specific so the obd2 sheet wasnt much help for me.

Can anyone help me on what I should go about doing?? One thing that came to mind for me was that my dad didnt go with the OEM spark plugs last year when he changed them all, he went with a Champion plug that canadian tire had listed for the motor

Thanks

Well I can tell you I wouldn't put Champion plus in a Ford never mind anything of my own.

P1110-Intake Valve Timing Control (Left Bank).

I would certainly put the OEM NGK recommended plugs in to eliminate that as a possible issue. It's not throwing parts at a problem if it needs to be done anyway

Change your oil.

The primary reason for an intake timing code on a Qby4 is low oil.

Champion plugs WILL damage your truck. If money is tight you really may want to think about getting some NGKs from the Nissan dealer or a reputable online source. The resistance value of the copper core Champions of too much for the coils. This will not burn the fuel enough. I would not be surprised if you ended up with a PO300-306 sometime soon.

Because here in canada, thats $29 per plug.

Why pay more for the exact same product online??

Show me that its made to the same spec?

Either way its your truck do what YOU want, But it was made to be used with OEM parts.

Try Infiniti Of Scottsdale, AZ.... There are always choices but using crap parts on a good truck is not very nice. Especially 2000+ truck such as yours.

I would have no problem using the specified NGK plug in the owner's manual vs. one from the dealer. If you don't have the owner's manual, check at http://www.infinititechinfo.com under the publications tab at the top. See page 10-9. $17.99CDN here. http://www.shopforautoparts.ca/ShopByVe ... ug&mode=PA

Probably better than what you have now, but not the same as OEM. The "G Power" series is a step down from the OEM laser platinum.
