P11 rear hubs/wheel bearing noise?

I've recently purchased a 1999 G20 and I'm in the process of sorting out some issues. I've noticed a pronounced growling noise from the rar of the car when driving at any speed. After checking for angry weasels and finding none (thank goodness!) I'm thinking rear hubs. Is this a common issue with this platform? Other than the cheap tires (that came with the car) is there anything else back there that could be making this noise?

I would start with the cheap tires first.
