P0746 Pressure Control Solenoid Performance or Stuck Off - What does this code mean? I was driving, lost power, and the SES light comes on. While pulled off to the side of the road, I press on the gas but the car doesn't move. Turned the car off, let it sit and it ran fine. When I got home I checked the SES code: P0746 Pressure Control Solenoid Performance or Stuck Off - Any ideas on what this means? How to fix? Is it serious?

Thank you for any help.Matt

The system sensed a line pressure problem with the CVT transmission. Trouble is either the line pressure control system, input speed sensor or output speed sensor. I would take it into Nissan so they can troubleshoot the problem and fix it under warranty.

I am not sure if the warranty is an option. I recently installed a home-made hydrogen generator on my 2007 Versa with CVT. The idea is that the HHO gas is produced and ran into the air intake. You then modify the air intake sensor signal to lean the air/fuel mixture saving you gas. At first, my car reved up and bounced the rpm's up and down. Ex. On the fwy my rpm's will be at 2,000 then rev up to 2,500 rpm's. It does this every 4 seconds or so. After this, I completely unistalled the device used to "enhance" the air flow sensor. The car went back to I thought normall operation, then it just lost power and got P0746 error. Is it possible this is a one time error, or will I keep seeing this problem? Could the air flow or O2 sensor or plugs cause the problem?

My suggestion is to remove the hydrogen generator and take it into the dealer. There is a chance your "equipment" may have caused this, actually, a pretty good one (CVT transmissions do not like sudden changes in engine output power). Good luck...

I cleared the SES error and just took the car out for a test drive. The only issue(that I could duplicate) is after the engine is fully warm my RPM's start to jump around when the engine is placed on a slight load. (i.e I slowly start to accelerate at about 50 mph the engine goes from 2,000 to 2,500) - It hasn't been enough to cause the SES light to come on, but there is a problem for sure. Could I have caused a malfunction in the air flow sensor? I would like to try the dealer as a last resort.

Thanks

Could have been a number of things. The code suggests a line pressure issue based upon one of the speed sensors.
