P0745 Solenoid A - New valve body?

I got this code after driving my 08x normally in manual shift mode and the service engine light pops on outta nowhere. Car immediately went into "D" on the dash, manual shifting does nothing, and recognized that I don't have 5th gear. Just will smoothly and automatically through the gears and tops out in 4th.

Lots of online vids, but nothing for M's or other Infiniti AWD's from 08 so I'm a little apprehensive trying to replace anything yet. I've checked fluid - it's a good color of red and not low.

I've learned that that a possible solenoid replacement could do the trick, but I don't know if I have a low or high ohm solenoid. Also have heard that a reprogram is necessary but would like confirmation from someone. Do I just replace the whole valve body? Just a solenoid?

P0745 is almost always electrical, so a new set of solenoids will usually fix it provided everything else is healthy. However, it's very possible the problem is in the wiring between the TCM and solenoids, or (especially) from cracked solder on the TCM connector pins. Check those first before you change any parts.
