I had posted this in the sentra forum earlier in the week, but no one had any experience with it. what should I do with this code? I know that it is something with the Pressure Solenoid. How important is it - what does it do? I have cleared it but it comes back. Thanks.

A P0745 refers to a faulty solenoid inside the automatic transmission. The Line Pressure Solenoid regulates the oil pump output pressure during closed throttle operation. There are component inspections that need to be performed to isolate the root cause. The short of it is, if you are not comfortable removing the valve body from your transmission than this is not going to be a DIY repair. If you want you transmission to keep taking you on your commute reliably get this fixed asap. The solenoid pack is much cheaper than an entire transmission will be.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the information, tech guru! I planned on changing the transmission fluid and filter on this car anyway soon - the valve body is accessible from inside the pan right? One thing i will be checking first since this car was in a front end crash is all the wiring - could there be a pinched wire somewhere sending the computer faulty information? The car has about 105k miles on it, is this a common problem at this mileage?

Below is a link to the service manual for the 01 Sentra. Follow the procedure beginning on AT-173. Since you may have damage from the prior accident that cannot be guessed at you will need to perform some wire tests to get a better idea.

I really do not know if that's a common issue, my primary experience is on the other side of the fence. A failing servo is not that beyond the realm of comprehension given the mileage.
